Lithops (living stones)

Lithops love sunlight – the more the better.  Place in bright, direct light.

Do not water in the summer.  These plants expect a drought during their summer months and should not be watered – an exception can be made if they are very wrinkled but even then do so sparingly.  Water in its growing season – Autumn – when the plant shows signs of requiring water (wrinkling).  Do not water in winter – water again in spring if necessary.

These plants like course sand, perlite, pumice and lava roc – generally media that does not retain water.
